Plan of Salvation

What must I do to be saved?

The Path to Salvation

God’s Design

God created man for fellowship with Him and desires a personal relationship with every person.

“God created man in His own image…” (Genesis 1:27)

Man’s Sin

All people are sinners by nature and by choice, and sin separates us from God.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

The Penalty of Sin

The result of sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God.

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a)

God’s Provision Through Christ

In His love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again.

“…but God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

Salvation is not earned by good works, religious effort, or church membership. It is the free gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith… not as a result of works.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)

Repentance and Faith

Salvation requires repentance (turning from sin) and faith (placing one’s trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior).

“Repent and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Assurance of Salvation

Those who trust in Christ are forgiven, born again by the Holy Spirit, and made children of God, secure in Him.

“To all who did receive Him… He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

Baptism and Christian Living

Following salvation, believers are called to publicly profess their faith through believer’s baptism and to grow as disciples through faithful involvement in the local church.

“Those who received his word were baptized…” (Acts 2:41)

Follow These Steps to Salvation

“A” Admit you are a sinner who needs God’s forgiveness.

“B” Believe Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead to offer you eternal life.

“C” Confess your sins and commit your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Pray something similar to this:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I know I have chosen to disobey you, but here and now, I ask you to forgive me as I repent of my sins. I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I believe you rose from the dead for me, and I ask you to save me as I commit my life to you right now as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
